Lha’s Reception and Orientation services are designed to provide all the necessary assistance needed for a safe arrival here in McLeod Ganj and familiarize our volunteers with the places they will need to know about during their stay, e.g. banks, laundries, restaurants, hospitals, etc. If you have not already visited McLeod Ganj or have had no personal experience within a Tibetan community, we highly recommend signing up for at least the Orientation service to be properly prepared for volunteering in the Tibetan community.
We realize that India can initially be quite a cultural shock and the Tibetan culture may be challenging to become accustomed to. Because of this, we offer different services to help you have a smooth arrival and onward travel in India, and orient you to the Tibetan community here in Dharamsala. This service is most beneficial to those who have never been to India or traveled to a developing country.
