Lha Charitable Trust hosted a group of 14 people from Arizona, US under its Cultural Exchange program from 17th – 26th May. The group was mixed of different age groups and from various professional backgrounds. They were introduced to Lha’s objectives and ongoing projects within the Tibetan community. As a part of our service, we have assisted them in arranging their accommodation, toured them to different Tibetan organisations to learn about Tibetan culture, tradition, arts and medicine. They visited Norbulingka institute, Mentsekhang – Tibetan Medical and Astrology Institute, Dalai Lama temple and Tibet Museum. We have also arranged for them a Tibetan language class and another class by a Geshe la who gave them a brief introduction of Buddhist philosophy and answered their questions.

As part of their program, the group carried out pad-distribution to nuns in Tilokpur nunnery, Shugsheb nunnery and Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery and to students of Upper Tibetan Children’s Village School in Dharamshala. At the same time, they educated the nuns in these nunneries about menstrual hygiene.
