We began offering Chinese language classes at Lha in 2004.   Due to a shortage of teachers for two years we could not offer these classes.  Fortunately classes resumed in 2007 and have been progressing successfully since then.    Currently we teach 35 to 40 students every month.

We have three different levels - beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, each an hour class offered daily.

Most of our Chinese language students are Tibetan and many have a strong will to go back to Tibet.   Chinese is more practical than Tibetan in Tibet.   It offers greater opportunities for employment and in communication.   We recognize that the Chinese language is getting more popular globally, therefore it’s important to know basic Chinese to communicate with world.
