Lha Cultural Exchange Students Groups

The Lha student exchange programme was started a decade ago and has been progressing successfully ever since.

This month, Lha hosted a number of students from various American universities.

A student group from Lifework International visited Lha from June 30 to July 10, a student group from Loyola visited from July 7 - 26 and four different student groups from Rustic Pathways visited between July 5 - 28 for short periods of time.

Lha Environmental Survey Report 2014

Lha Receives Tulane University Student Group

Lha hosted a student exchange group from Tulane University, USA, during the month of June. The group of 18 students, led by Mr Michael and his team of tutors, were here for three weeks to explore and learn about the Tibetan community in exile and the local Indian community.

On arrival, the group was welcomed by Mr Jigme Thinley from Lha who gave a presentation about our organisation and the projects undertaken by Lha.

Celebrating World Environment Day

Today ( June 5), Lha collaborated with the Tibetan Women's Association (TWA) and the Clean Upper Dharamsala Programme (CUDP) to observe World Environment Day.

The programme started at 10am, where students from the nearby Dharamshala Cantonment School marched around the market to make the public aware of the environmental issues.

Lha's first cultural exchange program 2014

Lha's first cultural exchange program this year came to a successful conclusion on May 27. The student group, from Centenary College, Louisiana, USA, consisted of 10 students lead by Professor David Otto and Michael Smith.

During the three week program, the students were introduced and paired with Lha's students where they engaged in a mutual learning program. The Centenary group received lectures from former Tibetan political prisoners and others.
