25th Water filter system installed at Kamrao Tibetan Settlement

Lha has installed a new water filtration system at Kamrao Gapa Tibetan Settlement. It is the 25th system that Lha has installed under the Lha Clean Water Project and is expected to benefit the health of the 229 residents of the settlement. Three Student Groups get Involved in the Tibetan Community.

Lha hosted three student groups this month as part of our Cultural Exchange Programme.

Nine students from Tulane University in America stayed at Lha’sAhimsa House for ten days, visiting different Tibetan institutes in Dharamshala to learn about Tibetan culture and our political situation. They were also paired with Lha student for a mutual learning experience and to share each other’s culture and language.

Lha's Monthly Mass Cleanup

Lha’s monthly mass clean up took place on May 20 with around 90 people taking part. Lha students and volunteers were joined by the people who eat at our community soup kitchen and cleared up one of the largest illegal dump sites on Jogiwara road in Mcleod Ganj. The Clean Upper Dharamsala Programme (CUDP) organised the garbage truck to remove the piles of rubbish collected during the day.
