Lha's fifth cultural exchange program for 2010 took a group of thirteen students and two professors from the School of Social Work, Tulane University, New Orleans. They arrived here in Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala on 10 September 2010 and stayed until 23 September 2010. We commenced with a brief introductory session explaining the charitable objectives of Lha. We then introduced the American exchange students to their Tibetan student partners in order for them to swap thoughts and opinions on their vastly different cultures.

To help further develop the exchange group's appreciation for Tibetan culture we organized for local Tibetan scholars to speak to them about a variety of Tibetan issues. We also organized a local tour to places like Tso Pema, Bir and other cultural institutions near Mcleod Ganj. The exchange students also went on a picturesque two day mountain trek to Triund - an unforgettable experience for all.

To farewell the students from Tulane Univeristy, Lha organized a dinner for them and their Tibetan student partners - a chance to reminisce, say goodbye and arrange for future contact. After the dinner, the exchange group left for Delhi via Pathankot.

This was the final cultural exchange program of this year and all five, which have taken between sixty and seventy students in total from all over the globe, have been hugely successful. Lha plans to continue with this mutually beneficial cultural exchange program and looks forward to exhibiting the Tibetan culture to many more international students for years to come.

Lha's eleventh massage course:

Lha's eleventh massage course went from 13 September 2010 to 24 September 2010. The five students who attended were under the tuition of Ms. Vanessa Mack. Ms. Vanessa Mack has a total of eight years experience in massage. She has completed a four year diploma in Tao Shiatsu and is also qualified in anatomy and physiology.

The ten day massage course consisted of a three hour session each day. Each session was aimed to uncover how to free vital life energy through a combination of deep rhythmic movements, assisted stretches, treatment of specific release points to regain natural body equilibrium and Meridian yoga.

The students were thoroughly happy with the course and all five received a certificate of completion with the approval of Ms. Vanessa Mack.
