FINDING THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY

Please be aware that all volunteer opportunities are only in Dharamsala (northern India) at this time.   We suggest you look on our website (www.lhasocialwork.org) to find an opportunity that you are most interested in before filling out the application.  If you are interested in multiple positions, please list each of them.  Unless otherwise stated, the volunteer opportunities do not offer room and board. However, there are many comfortable and inexpensive options for housing in Dharamsala.

RECEPTION AND ORIENTATION

In addition to providing volunteer placement, Lha can help you with your arrival in India and orientation in the Tibetan Community.

Signing up for reception and orientation services is a great way to show your support for the local organizations! You will be greeted at the airport, have your lodging in Delhi and Dharamsala reserved, your travel arrangements to Dharamsala already made, and orientation will be provided to help get you settled.   The Orientation service also offers you valuable insights into the cultural and social dynamics of this small community, a deepened awareness of the difficult situation facing Tibetans at home and in exile, and an intimate knowledge that will empower you to volunteer effectively and sensitively.
