Lha has seven full time permanent staff and five part time staff. Following are permanent staff only.
Mr. Ngawang Rabgyal ( Director)
He was born in 1977. As a boy he joined the some of the prominent monasteries in his home town and in Lhasa where he studied Buddhist philosophy. He Studied and improve his education and attending school and other education Centre. After his Studies, Ngawang has been an active member of Lha since 2003. During his staying in Delhi, he worked with Lha’s advisor Neil and former Director Jampa Tsering as a coordinator and guide to groups of university students. In 15, July 2008, he became a Director. Before joining Lha, Ngawang worked at Khawakarpo Tibet Culture Centre as an Administration Manager and reporter for the Tibet Express (weekly Independent Tibetan Language newspaper). On top that, he is project officer of the Wildlife Protection Society of India, being activist for environmental and wildlife conservation campaigns, and he also works with some international environmental NGOs.
Ngawang successfully organized two mega Wildlife Conservation Campaigns in the Tibetan community between 2006 and 2008. He had written a book on Environment and Wildlife Conservation in the Tibetan language, which was released in June 2008. He is also International Rotary Club Member.
Mr. Ngawang Lodoe (Assistant Director)
He was born in the eastern part of Tibet in 1977. He studied both sutra and tantra for a few years in Tibet, before going into exile in India as a political refugee in 1995. When he arrived in India, He was admitted to Sherab Gatsel Lobling school in lower Dharamsala, where his studied English
and Tibetan. After he finished school, he was admitted to the Sarah College for Higher Tibetan Studies, also in Dharamsala, and studied Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan dialectics. In
2003, He graduated with my Rigney Rabjampa (degree) in teacher training from Sarah College. In 2004, He studied English at the British Council in New Delhi, and in 2006, He joined Lha as a staff member. At Lha, He teach Tibetan language classes, coordinate US University and high school cultural exchange programs, Assistant Director and Massage Therapist.
Miss Sonam Dolkar (Office Secretary)
She was born in Tibet Kham Driru on June 24th 1989 and escaped to India in 1994. She went to TVC Suja school and completed her 10th grade from there. She then did her high school from TCV Bylakupee in south India. She graduated her Bachelor in Commerce from Madras Christian College in April, 2011. She joined Lha office in May 2011 as accountant and office secretary.
Ms. Tamdin Yangzom (Computer teacher, cooking teacher and cashier)
She was born in Kham and lived there until she was 16 years of age. She escaped to India in the year 2002 in order to get a good education, which she heard was being given under the Tibetan school system set up in India, and to meet H.H The Dalai Lama. She attended the Suja/Bir branch of the TCV School and then came to Dharamsala in the year 2005. From 2005 to 2008, she has been improving her English lesson and computer skill. She became Lha staff member from July 2008. Currently she is working as a computer teacher, cooking teacher and Cashier.
She was born in one of the small town of Lhasa on Oct 2nd 1980. She came to India on 1993 and was self employed till 2004. She became a staff member of Lha from December 2004 till date. Currently she is cook, doing massage treatment to the visitors and office assistant.
She was born in Kham, Tibet on January 15th 1983 and lived until she was 16 years old. She then moved to Lhasa, and then made the journey to India as a refugee. Once she reached India, she studied at the Bir/Suja branch of TCV School from 1999 to 2003. She moved to McLeod Ganj and began studying English at Lha. She became a staff member of Lha at the end of 2006 as an office assistant. Currently she is working as cook assistant, doing massage treatment to the visitors and office assistant.
